--- The Wheel Turns ---
Seeing the solitary man suspiciously approach the camp, you decide to sneak up on him and take him prisoner. You put the bow on your back and pull out your spear. Then quiet as a mountain cat, you stealth over your log and move south along the bank of the river. The man is heading up the incline towards the camp, moving silently towards the first tent where Maeslyn was busily helping the wounded guard. As you get closer you can see his sword is drawn. You quietly come up behind him, veiling your face.
"Surrender wetlander, and you might live to see another day!" you whisper to him urgently.
He whirls around, surprise in his eyes, but instead of giving in, he lunges at you quietly with his sword. You turn his blade on your spear, pushing it to your left, leaving his torso exposed. Then with a swift double-handed lunging motion, you send the spear through his gut and impale the man onto a tree. He gasps and groans in agony, but is still conscious and with a fierce look in his eye, swings with his sword at your neck.
With your spear, still stuck through his body, you are unable to get it free in time to block the attack, you attempt to duck the blow, but the edge of the blade catches your skull sending you reeling backwards in agony, letting go of the spear. Blood drips from a deep gash in your head.
Out of the corner of your eye, to your left, to the south, you see movement. You shake your head to clear you mind from the pain and you can see two more shadowy figures using the trees as cover to approach the camp some 15 paces away.
