--- The Wheel Turns ---
"We will track the two who fled," you quietly whispter to Keb. "With any luck we can capture them, get their clothes and order everyone on patrol."
A few moments later you crest the hill and gather with the rest of your party.
Therlin is not in a pleasant mood when you explain your plan. "By the blazes, you sent us off chasing shadows and now we're going to do it again?" He looks at you incredulously and folks his arms across his chest.
"If you'd rather stay..." Keb suggests.
"Quiet!" Maeslyn orders. "With all the bickering, the guards may hear us!" After everyone quiets, she continues. "Maer, your plan is a good one. It may be carrying us too far afield from our primary goal of helping the villagers. But we can give it a try."
So after saddling up and taking a wide bearth around the encampment you scout the area north where you saw the two horsemen ride off.
You dismount and peer around the muddy ground, the icy wind chilling you. You find a faint print and then another.
Soon you are following the trail north through rolling hills. You move slowly tracking this way and it doesn't help that there's no light. After nearly three hours you crest a hill and find another efficient encampment atop another hill.
You see another command tent and some smaller tents atop the hill. On the right side of the the hill, near the top you see a picketline of horses. You also see two sentries guarding the horses and another two walking patrol a top the hill.
