--- The Wheel Turns ---
You rush west out of the fog and are about to turn south to head around some buildings when you make out the vague form of a figure crouching in the shadows of a building to the north and of you, a bow in his hands, arrow nocked, and pointed at--now that you are out of the fog and can see--two Seanchan bowmen who don't appear to notice him, their attention focused on the northern edge of the fog.
You can't see his face hidden in shadows, but you can see he is a large man, probably around Thenlir's size. Large and tall. His shot flies true and with a solid thunk, his shaft protrudes from the chest of the Seanchan bowman, pitching him backwards.
The other bowman looks about wildly, but doesn't see where the shot comes from, backing away from his companion, and then disappears from sight.
After a few moments, the large man, crouches and trots shadows towards you, bow still in his hand, a long sword strapped about his waist and a small bucker on his left arm. You cautiously keep another arrow nocked as he approaches.
He stops briefly and then salutes you, in what you now recognize to be after the fashion of the borderlanders. "Peace favor your spear, Maer of the Aiel. I am Fiznak of the Sheinar." he salutes you in what you recognize to be a borderlander greeting. He smiles for a moment and then grimaces in pain. You notice several cuts on his arms, legs, and a large wound on his head.
"I seek shelter in these mists, if it is permitted?" he continues politely, eyeing your bow and the spear on your back with caution, and then glancing nervously over his shoulder in the direction of the inn.
